Johnny Cash is one of the most celebrated country music legends in the world. Songs like “Folsom Prison Blues” and “Boy Named Sue” by Johnny Cash, are so well known by all ages. Johnny Cash is one of the originators of rockabilly music. His timeless hit songs are performed live and played on radio daily throughout the world.
Johnny Cash, at the age of seventy one years, was still recording albums. Many of his songs have become household names. I don’t think there is a country band in the world that hasn’t sung “Folsom Prison Blues”. Many of John’s songs have also crossed over into the Pop Charts. As recently as 2002, John was again nominated for Grammy Awards—four in all—an amazing achievement. More Grammy’s were to come after his sad passing in 2003.
Dale Hooper had the pleasure of meeting Johnny Cash in person during his tour of Australia in 1995 with “The Highwaymen”. Johnny’s advice to Dale was,
“If you are going to do something son, do it right!” And do it right he does!
Johnny Cash will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. The music & sound of this great legend is kept well & truly alive by Dale Hooper.
